If you’re in the market to spend several hundred thousand Swiss francs on a watch, you’re also well catered for at Antiquorum’s sale in Geneva, taking place on 8 November 2015 – both the skull tourbillon Richard Mille (est. 340,000-420,000 Swiss francs) or the astronomy-inspired Patek Philippe (300,000-350,000 francs) should appeal. But the watches at the lower end of the catalogue are just as interesting, especially the rare vintage Omega chronographs. All 1970 models, the Seamaster Soccer Timer was originally sold to Mozambique, the Seamaster Bullhead to Columbia, and the Speedmaster Mark II Racing to Norway. Temptingly, all three are estimated under 5,000 francs. There are some beautiful pieces from other watchmakers, too, such as the simple military IWC from 1952, estimated to fetch 3,000-5,000 francs.
