Not only will the C-X17 signal Jaguar's intent to venture into previously untried areas, it also introduces a new modular aluminium architecture - not too dissimilar to that recently introduced by sister brand Land Rover.
Jaguar says the concept shows "the diversity of vehicles that could be produced using this architecture, which underpins the innovative future of the Jaguar brand". It's thought that even the smaller Jaguars of the future (think 3 Series rival and new XF) will use this platform, but we'll have to wait until the concept's debut at Frankfurt for the details. Classic Driver will be covering all the most important Frankfurt news live from the show.
