In Brazil in 1969, Rudolf Leiding decided to start the development of a sports car under the working title 'Project X'. Designed by Marcio Piancastelli, José Vicente Novita Martins and Jorge Yamashita Oba, the result was stunningly beautiful. The Volkswagen SP2 is based on the Brazilian model of the VW 1600 Variant. Its engine is a flat four-cylinder increased to 1700 cm3, developing 65 hp and allowing a top speed of 161 km/h. This SP 2 has already seen a lot of the world and can now be viewed in the Netherlands. Car has a Dutch registration since 1984, drives and shifts very well.
