EXTERIOR
Fully converted by marque specialists Twisted, this incredible example is surely the Defender in its ultimate form. The traditional shade of Corris Grey metallic perfectly frames the 110s vast body whilst contrasting black details, including the branded front bull bar, half cage and diamond plate panels give the car a commanding and contemporary presence.

Uprated suspension and a set of huge BF Goodrich off-road tyres heighten this styled 110, with the inclusion of full LED work lights and roof mounted tools hinting to the fact that this Defender is as capable off road as it is cruising around town. One of the most significant changes is the vented and bulged bonnet which does more than look good, acting as an extra inlet to feed the monstrous 4.2L supercharged V8 that lies beneath.

INTERIOR
Whilst the exterior of the Defender portrays a sort of utilitarian chic the interior is an altogether more luxurious affair, with invoices of the custom work adding up to almost £30,000. Heated Recaro Sportster CS seats replace the originals and are upholstered in a lavish layer of black alligator skin leather with red contrast stitching, that spreads across the the doors, dashboard and rear seats. The Momo steering wheel also benefits from the same treatment and sits just in front of the digital dashboard, which clearly displays the vitals of the supercharged V8.

Further eccentric detail comes in the form of Apache helicopter switchgear, with it a genuine joystick used in place of the traditional gearknob, with an intercom mute button that sounds the horn, and a series of red toggle switches that control the exterior lights and interior LED mood lighting. Removable seats that mount in the rear give the added flexibility of having up to 7 passengers, or complete access to the bespoke rear shooting boxes which are beautifully crafted in a combination of gloss black wood and felt lining.

Modern essentials are also taken care of, with air conditioning, an Alpine Entertainment system, I-phone docking and even a custom centre console with built in refrigerator.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Ditching the original turbo diesel engine the owner of this Defender wanted something a little more interesting, and so a supercharged 4.2L Range Rover V8 was fitted in its place at a cost of almost £18k. Connected to a modified 6-Speed manual gearbox, performance clutch, lightweight flywheel and a bespoke switchable side exit exhaust the end result is astounding, producing 390bhp and a meteoric sound to match. No corners were cut during the conversion, with a new cooling system, ECU, oil cooler and fuel system fitted to ensure the engine runs as efficiently and reliably as possible.

Since the conversion was completed the car has covered just 3,500 miles and so sits in perfect mechanical order.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Perfectly in keeping with the achromatic style of the Defender sit a set of satin black 18″ Twisted Sport alloys, shod in some suitable 285/65 BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres.

Suspension has been completely replaced in favour of a Twisted set up, leaning more toward road/comfort use, whilst brakes have been uprated to 350mm AP Racing front discs and 6-pot callipers.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied by Ripon Land Rover on 04/12/12 this car started life as a Defender 110 XS Utility before being purchased by the 3rd and current owner in August 2015 with around 15k miles on the clock. Shortly after purchasing the car the owner set about an ambitious project which consisted of a performance/bodywork conversion by marque specialists Twisted before moving onto AutoAudio works to have a bespoke interior fitted. Not content with the Defender just looking the part it was then sent to specialist RR London, who were tasked with shoehorning in the Land Rover 4.2L supercharged V8, which was then sent to Ozcraft for a bespoke exhaust system and some final tuning.

An extensive parts list and accompanying invoices outline the extensive work and costs that went into the project, totalling almost £150,000 by the time all work was completed.

Present with the car is the original book pack, build invoices, V5 and a complete set of keys.
