Fiat X 1/9 of 1991.

It is a coupe with central-rear transverse engine and rear-wheel drive. The X1 / 9 is an evolution of the Autobianchi A112 Runabout prototype with Bertone styling under lead designer Marcello Gandini, the X1 / 9 is heir to the Fiat 850 Spider and is mechanically based on the Fiat 128 Sport 1300. Fiat SOHC engine and the Fiat 128's front-wheel drive transmission, the X1 / 9 relocated the transverse drivetrain and suspension assembly from the front of the 128 to the rear of the cabin, directly in front of the rear axle, for an engine setup central and a power of 85 CV. The engine was designed by Aurelio Lampredi, Ferrari's famous engine designer before joining FIAT.
