Unrestored original vehicle, one of only
One of only 20 produced examples – Matching Numbers and Colours!
2-time successful Mille Miglia participation
FIVA Pass and ASI Certificate

Born as a legend in 1947, the “Rossa” was able to brake the soaring success of Tazio Nuvolari’s Cisitalia and won 5 stages of the first post-war “Mille Miglia”. The Berlinetta Fiat 1100 S was the symbol of the Italian automobile industry, which was just on the verge of rising again. The “Mille Miglia” of 1947 was not only the first of the post-war period – it was entirely marked by the 1100 (millecento). Behind the overpowering overall winner Alfa Romeo 8C, three Cisitalia and four Fiat 1100 S placed from second to eighth. They were light, robust, agile, and born from a moment of urgency.

Our Fiat 1100 S is already the model modified for the following Mille Miglia races, in which it participated in 1950 and 2008. In addition to the extensive technical changes under the direction of the legendary engineer Dante Giacosa and his team, the Berlinetta received for the first time a body made of aluminium. Fiat Carrozzerie Speciali was the magic word. Today this Fiat 1100 S is extremely rare – with an aluminium body only 20 examples were built – each differed in detail.

This example was subjected to an extensive road test in 1997 by the Italian “Ruoteclassiche”. Furthermore, there is also a dossier on this car in “Ruoteclassiche”. The Fiat was first registered on 5 November 1948 and had around 10 ownership changes until 1961. Afterwards its trail was lost in the hall of a Turin coachbuilder. Rediscovered under 2 cm of dust, the new owner could hardly believe his eyes. He found a complete, original, and unrestored Fiat 1100 S. Until today no restoration work has been carried out – neither on the bodywork, mechanics nor interior. Of course, the necessary maintenance work was done. In 2025 it received a complete service.

The “Rossa” has a FIVA Pass with confirmation of the two Mille Miglia participations, a participant list of the Mille Miglia of 2008 and an ASI Certificate.

This unique example is absolutely original and immediately ready to start the next “Mille Miglia”. Naturally, the vehicle has matching numbers and colours.
