Beschreibung

Ducati built the legendary ‘round case’ 750 V Twin, designed by Fabio Taglioni on a relatively small budget, the first road going bike the 750GT arrived in 1971, but It wasn’t until Paul Smart’s Imola race victory in 1972 that the true potential was realised. The 750 Sport road bike followed, a tuned down version of the 750SS ( Green Frame ) race bike it still has the looks and handling of its brother if not quite the same power of the ‘Desmo’ valve race engine. Given that the ‘Green Frame’ bikes are now out of the budget of even the most avid collectors the 750 Sport represents great value and an opportunity to own a proper classic race bred Ducati With only 1,625 bikes being built the prices and availability are sure to rise in coming years. The early history of this example is not known, factory records show the production was late 1972, the bike came to the UK in 2000 and was registered as EKP269K. Not long after this it was restored by marque specialist Paul Klatkiewicz of Ducati Technical Services, the engine received a full rebuild to 775cc with gas flowed cylinder heads and electronic ignition, dyno tested at 64 bhp at the crank and 59 bhp at the rear wheel, new Borrani rims and Conti silencers were also fitted and the bike has covered about 4,500 miles since.
Having been in a private collection since 2008 the bike has continued to be maintained well, it remains in excellent condition having won the 2nd prize in the continental category at the Bristol Classic Show in 2019. Sold by us in 2024 we are delighted to be offering this superb motorcycle again. It is supplied with a history file that documents the restoration work in 2000 plus various invoices and a number of old MoT’s, plus a copy of an article in which it featured in The Classic Motorcycle Jan. 2023.
