The Maserati Indy, officially unveiled at the 1969 Geneva Motor Show, was a tribute to the Maserati 8CTF's two consecutive victories in the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940. This new car was designed by Vignale and could be seen as a model to fill the gap between the Ghibli and Mexico. The roofline was higher than the Ghibli to provide space for rear passengers.

The mechanics were “borrowed” from the Ghibli and represented traditional Maserati technology: a 90° V8 engine, semi-monocoque structure with a front subframe, independent double-wishbone front suspensions and a rigid rear axle with springs. Standard equipment included a two-way adjustable steering column, leather seats, power windows, reclining seats, fog lights, heated rear windshield, headrests and a dashboard-mounted clock in front of the passenger. The automatic gearbox was an option, here in this unit.

With a very low production of only 299 units, this model full of personality is in excellent condition and retains all the originality of its time.
