The Jaguar XJ Coupé was introduced in 1975 and, remarkably enough, operated alongside the XJ-S. The car was supplied with the 4.2-litre six-cylinder inline engine and the 5.3-litre V12, and was also available as a luxury Daimler Sovereign (4.2) and Double Six (V12). A striking detail is the absence of B-pillars, so that the side windows of the XJ Coupé are not interrupted. In 1978 the production of the XJ Coupé was stopped again; but just over 10,000 units were built.
