Ex-BMS Scuderia Italia
Spa 24 Hour Class winner & 2nd in Class at 24 Hours of Le Mans
One of the most significant examples
Restored by Michelotto

We are delighted to be asked by Eugenio Amis to handle the sale of his superb Ferrari F430 GTC. Eugenio is renowned for his taste as a collector, and of course as the visionary behind the sensational Lancia Delta Integrale Futurista. When he decided some years ago to acquire an F430 GTC, he wanted one of the very best examples possible. One car stood out to him above all others, and that was chassis 2616.

With the arrival of the F430 in 2006, Ferrari was about to enter a brand new chapter in GT racing. Where the 360 Modena is an adaptation for the N-GT class, the F430 GT had the GT2 category in mind from the start. On top of reliability, it would bring outright speed in a very competitive class. The car was meant for privateers to race in the FIA GT Championship, Le Mans Series (ALMS, LMS, Asian LMS), and of course at Le Mans.

The car F430 GTC was built by Michelotto Automobili with inputs from Ferrari Corse Clienti department. The partnership between Ferrari and Michelotto already produced successful endurance race cars like the F40 LM / CSAI-GT / GTE, the F333 SP, and the 360 N-GT. Like the 360 Modena, the F430 is built around an all aluminum space frame chassis with a completely flat underfloor. The aerodynamics were completed by a rear wing mounted significantly higher than on the 360 N-GT. The F430 GTC engine was smaller than its road car sibling, to make efficient use of the FIA/ACO rules. With a cubic capacity of under 4.0L (instead of 4.3L for the road car), it was still able to develop around 450hp depending on air restrictors size. With the experience learned on the 360 N-GT, the gearbox was a 6 speed manual sequential.

The F430 GT/GTC proved extremely successful around the world, winning the FIA Manufacturer and Drivers title in 2006 and 2007, ALMS Manufacturer and Driver title tilte in 2007, the Sebring 12 hours (2007, 2009, and 2010), Le Mans 24 hours (2008 and 2009), Spa 24 hours (2006, 2008, and 2009) and Petit Le Mans twice (2008 and 2009).

Of all the eight racing teams that engaged the F430 GTC, BMS Scuderia Italia took delivery of two F430 GTC in 2008, after having successfully raced the Prodrive 550 GTS and DBR9. Chassis 2614 and 2616 were part of the third and last series of the 430 GTC. Both cars were engaged in the FIA GT Championship and for the Le Mans 24 hours.

2616 was driven by 2007 Formula 3000 Italian Champion Davide Rigon and GT racer Joel Camathias in the FIA GT Championship. Argentinian José Manuel Balbiani joined for the last three rounds. Both duo placed consistently in the GT2 class with only one DNF at the Bucarest second race. But it would be in the 24 hours races that the car would really shine.

The Le Mans team consisted of Paolo Ruberti (Formula 3, Touring car, and GT driver), Matteo Malucelli (2005 Italian GT1 Champion), and Fabio Babini (GT class winner Le Mans 2001) and they placed second twice, in 2008, and 2009. In the 2008 For Spa 24 Hours, four drivers were engaged: Malucelli, Ruberti, Camathias, and Rigon. They drove faultlessly to a sensational victory win in GT2 and 5th place overall. In 2009 Malucelli and Ruberti also scored two podiums and two second places in the FIA GT Championship.

At the end of the season, the car was kept and reconditioned by BMS Scuderia, for one of the team patrons. The car was comprehensively reconditioned by Michelotto in 2019, when the engine and gearbox were fully inspected, replacing parts as necessary. Michelotto also rebuilt the suspension and every part (including engine and gearbox) was removed to allow chassis alignment. The full list is available on demand. Finally the car received its 2008 Le Mans livery and is now ready for the race track.

2616 car is eligible for the following historic racing series: Endurance Racing Legends by Peter Auto - where you could drive at Le Mans, Masters Endurance Legends, Gulf Historic, but also the Ferrari Corse Clienti events through the Club Competizioni GT. Not forgetting the popular Daytona and Sebring Classic events in the USA of course.

The F430 GTC remains as the first purpose-developed modern GT coming from Ferrari, paving the way for the successful 458 GTC and 488 GTE models. 2616 is arguably one of the finest and most significant examples in existence, and represents a fantastic opportunity not to be missed.
