Notice:
"Delivered new in France, since 2010 in the same hands".
The history of Ferrari has aroused the greatest automotive passions, punctuated by a handful of models that have become more than mythical. In this dream list, the 250 GT California rubs shoulders with the F40 or the 312P racing prototypes, but one suffix comes up three times: GTO (meaning Gran Turismo Omologato), first of all from the nec plus ultra of the Cavallino firm, the 250 GTO, no less! This was followed by the first iteration of the - now mythical - Ferrari supercar/hypercar line, the 288 GTO, initially designed for Group B homologation.
At the dawn of the 2010s, Ferrari's production range was topped by the 599 GTB, a front-engined V12 berlinetta. This is certainly the model that brought Ferrari's philosophy into the modern era, after the more discreet 550 Maranello and 575. From now on, the styling is more exotic, and sportier! A few years before the 599, Ferrari had announced the creation of a new program called XX, dedicated to the development of new technologies through the production of racing car handles for the most important customers... The idea was revolutionary: to develop unlicensed track cars, more radical than production models, and offer them with a complete service including technical support and track sessions. The first iteration in this program was developed on the basis of the Enzo, then named FXX. A few years later, in 2009, Ferrari announced a new model, based on the 599 GTB: the golden age of the program! Inspired by this car and by the brand's past, Maranello engineers salvaged a 599 XX and began designing a road-going version. It's the return of the GTO philosophy!
At the 2010 Beijing Motor Show, the public flocked to see the new BMW and Mercedes-Benz models, but that wasn't the main attraction... On the Ferrari stand, the latest model was the talk of the town: the 599 GTB was transformed into a ferocious beast, and renamed the 599 GTO. It loses 100 kg and gains 67 hp, thanks to far-reaching modifications: new high-compression pistons, optimized intake system with redesigned ducts, sports exhaust with Inconel headers, completely reprogrammed electronic management, intensive use of carbon (hood, trunk, dashboard, seats), and finally a change of chassis parts to aluminum! Even before the presentation, the 599 units produced had already been sold...
Our example was delivered on June 25, 2010 by Pozzi to its first owner, an important French collector who owned some of the finest prancing horses in the world! A well-informed collector, he decided to option his car intelligently, opting first for the sumptuous Rosso Formula 1 2007 (Tailor Made triple-coat paint), coupled with a black alcantara interior and the - very - rare rollover bar (billed at nearly €20,000 at the time). It was only a month later (and 800 km) that he decided to part with it. The current owner, a fanatic of the brand, bought the car. He has driven the car almost 30,000 km (the odometer now reads just over 30,200 km), surely a record for a 599 GTO. As an enthusiastic mechanic, he will also offer his car regular ongoing maintenance, exclusively at Ferrari dealerships and every two years (except in 2019!). The 2025 service will be carried out after the sale, with replacement of the TPMS probes, by Charles Pozzi of Levallois-Perret, at the seller's expense. Today, the car is in perfect condition, fully protected by PPF film, and accompanied by its service booklet, booklets, spare key, charge holder and dust cover.
Collectors in the know, we're not telling you anything here, as this car is such a myth that it has taken up dozens of pages in our favorite newspapers. Adding a GTO to your collection is a rare act, propelling your collection into a new dimension. Their rarity, mystique and driving pleasure will enable these cars to surpass - in the near future - current estimates, as the Ferrari Enzos have done in recent months. Don't miss this opportunity - it may never come again!
