Beschreibung

When Ferrari introduced the 512 BB in 1976, it marked a decisive shift in the company’s road-car philosophy.
Evolving from the 365 GT4 BB, the 512 Berlinetta Boxer refined Ferrari’s mid-engine, flat-12 architecture — a layout inspired by its Formula One program and a dramatic departure from the marque’s traditional front-engine V12 grand tourers.
At a time when the supercar landscape was being redefined, the 512 BB stood at the forefront of technical innovation and design, combining dramatic Pininfarina styling with the raw, unfiltered voice of a carbureted flat-12.
Produced in just 929 examples between 1976 and 1981, it remains one of the most charismatic and significant Ferraris of its era.

On May 18, 1981, this Ferrari 512 BB was delivered by transporter to the home of its first owner in the American Southwest.
A prosperous businessman, eagerly awaiting its arrival, had purchased the car for $90,000 all-in from his preferred dealer, Auto Palace Sales of Pittsburg.
The car arrived accompanied by its original invoice and odometer mileage statement, confirming delivery with just 400 kilometers recorded.
A further 314 kilometers had been accumulated during mandatory EPA testing. In the brief period it was driven, only a negligible number of kilometers were added.

Soon after, the Ferrari was rolled into his garage — still wearing its factory protective plastic on the seats and door sills — where it would remain undisturbed for the next 33 years(!).

In 2014, the car finally emerged from long-term storage in Texas. It was acquired by its second owner and flown across the Atlantic to the United Kingdom, where it remained until our acquisition.

In March 2016, the car underwent a comprehensive mechanical recommissioning, including a full engine-out service, along with replacement of the cambelts and clutch.
In January 2026, a complete revision was carried out, ensuring the car remains in optimal mechanical condition.
Today, this extraordinary 512 BB stands as one of the lowest-mileage examples in existence, having covered just 841 kilometers from new — a remarkably preserved and highly significant artifact from one of Ferrari’s most compelling eras.
