Beschreibung
Chassis No. 1967009300 / A7213402G
This 'cab-over-engine' Dodge A100 van has been beautifully restored to like-new condition in white and turquoise aquamarine, and features dual 'barn doors' that open into a beautifully finished wood-paneled interior, including both floors and headliner, with a removable front passenger seat, rear bench seat for three, and dual dome lights. Equipped with a 'slant six' and manual transmission, showing 20,728 miles at the time of cataloging, it is fitted with a 12-volt electrical system, providing power sufficient for an accessory plug-in, as well as a heater, windshield washers, attractive period-correct side-view mirrors, roof rack (with surfboard!), 14-inch mag wheels with raised white-letter radial tires, and a Reese trailer hitch.
That hitch supports the most important 'accessory' of all, an original period Serro Scotty Sportsman Gaucho travel trailer, equally well-finished and in identical colors down to striped upholstery and hardwood paneling. Stepping inside after a long day's journey to Woodstock or Huntington Beach, the passengers can relax on a small couch, enjoy a meal for four at the dinette, and take in the breeze from jalousie-style casement windows and a rooftop vent. There is overhead storage and a comfortably sized sink with a vanity and mirror, and both the seat and dinette fold to sleep two adults each in comfort. As a somewhat elemental trailer, there is no provision for a range or, for that matter, a head, which is all part of the roughing-it fun of camping – although there is a mount for a propane tank on the tongue, should one want to tote along an outdoor grill.
There is no mystery to this machine: with its authentic 1960s travel trailer, it makes a combination irresistible to the wanderlust-filled collector.
