For Sale: 1967 Brabham BT23 – Ex-Works Formula 2

A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable Formula 2 cars of its era: the 1967 Brabham BT23, an ex-works chassis with an impressive period racing history.

Originally campaigned by the Brabham factory team in the 1967 European F2 Championship, BT23-2 was driven by the top works drivers of the period, Denny Hulme, Sir Jack Brabham, and Frank Gardner. With Brabham already a triple F1 World Champion and Hulme securing the F1 World Championship title in 1967, the car’s early history is closely linked to some of the most celebrated names in motorsport.

In 1968, BT23-2 continued its competitive career with Denny Hulme in the Tasman Cup before being sold by Sir Frank Williams to Italian driver Tino Brambilla. Brambilla entered it in one European F2 round that year, after which it was driven later in 1968 and throughout 1969 by Enzo Corti. In 1970, the car was raced in several events by future Formula 1 driver Vittorio Brambilla, marking the end of the BT23’s competition career.

Purchased by its current owner in the mid-2000s, the car subsequently underwent a complete and faithful restoration to its original factory specification, including its correct 1600cc fuel-injected Cosworth FVA engine and Hewland FT200 gearbox. Since the restoration, it has been used only for occasional non-competitive demonstrations and presents today in excellent restored condition.

This BT23 represents a rare opportunity to acquire a car with genuine period racing history.
