Beschreibung
It’s still hard not to think of the M3 in purist terms. Hard not to put it on a pedestal as the ultimate, road-going embodiment of everything that’s best about BMW, after all the original M3, the E30, had a motorsport career that saw it become one of the most successful Touring Cars of all time. This recipient of the iconic M3 badge had a more mainstream connotation and some feel that although the E93, with its sensational 414bhp 4-litre V8, was the quickest M3 at the time, it was also the one that moved farthest away from the lean acuity of the original.
This is the alfresco version of the M3, a folding metal roof in place of the previous model’s fabric one. The roof folds in 22 seconds, and performs the reverse manoeuvre in the same time. Its structure and mechanism burdened the M3 with a not insignificant 230kg, which adds half a second to its 0-60mph time, although you can shave 0.2 from that by ordering the M-DCT, double-clutch seven speed transmission.
The car we have on offer today is a 2010 M3 Cabriolet in Alpine white with black novillo leather interior and the optional 7 speed double-clutch automatic transmission. Other options on this car include 19” M Double-spoke alloy wheels, electric folding exterior mirrors, heated front seats, park distance control, voice control, Bluetooth phone pre and telemat, black carbon structure leather, wind deflector and an indoor car cover.
