EXTERIOR
Finished in Chamonix white this 2002 is in fantastic condition having had a full bare metal rebuild and repaint. During this extensive work the body was soda blasted, lightened, seam welded and strengthened to provide the basis for a formidable sporting machine.

The paint work has been completed to a high standard and presents beautifully with very few marks collected since completion. Waist line trims are in good condition all round having been replaced with new items, chrome work and further trim is presentable and smart, original with a light classic patina. The front and rear screens (both heated) have been replaced with new items along with rubbers.

Lights are clear, upgraded in power and further still with two Cibie spot lights.

INTERIOR
The cabin is focused as a driving machine with two pristine Recaro bucket seats, a refurbished Nardi Torino steering wheel and a subtle FIA approved bolt in cage. In addition a Brantz Rally meter sits in the centre dash for events and competition.

The original blue door cards are still fitted and the black plastic dash is in excellent condition with no cracks. The rear seats have been recovered to match the front with black fabric with the carpets throughout renewed with a grey speckle effect.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The heart of this 2002 is its Motorsport built engine that has been completely dismantled and built back up to a formidable powerplant. Sucking in air through twin Weber 45 Carburettors it breaths air with precision and efficiency through high lift cams, flowed intake airways before burning and expelling it through its race designed Turbo inspired bigger bore exhaust. The noise and performance is addictive, reliable and at 140bhp more than enough to propel this Group 1 car to competitive speeds.

Power is transferred through an E21 5 Speed overdrive gearbox and Limited slip differential. The whole drive-train tight having been fitted with a new prop shaft, coupling and new bushings and mountings throughout.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Front and rear race spec top mounts are fitted with new Bilstein suspension all round, 30mm lower and 25% stiffer. This alongside 2002 Turbo front and rear anti roll bars provide excellent body control. The refurbished 13 inch mini lite wheels fitted are wrapped in sticky Yokohama tyres and complete this Bavarians ultra sporting stance and ability.

The braking system all round has been renewed and refurbished to keep pace with the other modifications.

HISTORY FILE
Manufactured on the 26th July 1973 this 2002 was supplied in Chamonix white as a RHD car to a member of the British RAF.

Little of its early history is known however in 2015 it was chosen as an excellent base to rebuild, refurbish and transform this icon BMW New Class into a FIA Group 1 Race/rally car.

An extensive list is documented as it was built and engineered to an ultimate spec at great cost and dedication. Having covered less than 500 miles since it is still box fresh and just run in, ready to be enjoyed.
