Beschreibung
"One of the few noble automobiles in this world – a new masterpiece from BMW and Alpina."
In 1990, Alpina introduced the E31 B12 5.0 Coupé, based on the BMW 850i. The Grand Touring model was already a major success for BMW, and this rarity quickly proved its worth among enthusiasts. True to form, Alpina applied its own philosophy and made significant technical refinements.
Alpina used different pistons, larger intake valves, a new exhaust system, and a slightly revised Bosch Motronic engine management system. The B12 5.0 was available exclusively with a four-speed automatic transmission. Alpina also refined the chassis, fitted 20-spoke 17-inch wheels, and extended the front spoiler. Optional — and present on this car — is the iconic Alpina striping.
The mastermind behind this creation was Burkard Bovensiepen, a visionary who, since 1962, had a burning desire to push beyond the limits of BMW’s factory efforts. With an unwavering focus on quality, Alpina impressed BMW so much in 1964 with its tuning kits that BMW granted them official factory warranty coverage!
And ours? As you might have guessed by now — it’s one of just 97 examples ever built, originally delivered in Germany and complete with an extensive service and historical file documenting its life in meticulous detail. Finished in Sonderlackierung Dunkel Sapphire Blue Metallic and in remarkably original condition, this car now awaits a new custodian.
Will you come and see it?
“Are you ready to go beyond the supercar?” – Alpina
