Beschreibung
This AC Ace (chassis AEX 180) was the first AC Ace imported and sold in France by the Chardonnet garage in 1957—the AC France importer at the time. It was the first of 14 Ace models sold in France.
The car left for the USA in 1960 and returned to France in 2016. It has a complete history dating back to its origins. The full list of owners is known, and the car has had an exciting life between France and the USA.
Only 223 AC Ace “DITTON” models (equipped with the famous AC 6 LIGHT engine designed by John WELLER, founder of AC CARS LTD) were manufactured out of a total of 723 cars of all models.
Our AC Ace was configured from the outset for competition and is equipped with extremely rare options:
the latest generation of the AC 6 Light engine,
a lightweight aluminum transmission (only 7 examples built),
a short gear lever,
a “LE MANS” fuel cap,
and a limited-slip differential (rare)
The car has an AC-CLBN engine block, the latest evolution of the AC 6 Light engine, which is more powerful for competition, number #CLBN912463-W. The block was installed in the 1970s by the second owner.
This AC Ace is in superb original condition. A light coat of paint was applied years ago, significant mechanical work was carried out in 2016/2017, and the current owner has maintained it with care.
This is an AC in near-original condition, which is rare and sought-after on the current market.
The car is listed in the AC register, is well known to AC clubs and networks, and the owner has the LIP watch with the car's chassis number.
